Saucony (pronounced Sock-a-Knee) was founded in 1898 in Kutztown, Pennsylvania.
2 years after the first olympic marathon and 1 year after the first Boston marathon. At the turn of the century, competitive running was becoming the method of choice for young athletes looking to prove themselves and because of this the demand for high-quality footwear was increasing exponentially. Saucony set out to revolutionise the running world, starting with their dependable running spike and eventually (following relocation to Boston) developing the originals line - consisting of styles we’re still seeing today including the iconic the Jazz, sleeker DXN and modern-leaning shadow. It’s these styles that have cemented the brand as an American icon with high quality suede uppers, EVA midsoles and Saucony’s patented triangular lug design for traction and stability.
