AN INTERVIEW WITH THE LIQUOR STORE TEAM

We got a moment with a couple of the Liquor Store team to ask about what to do in Birmingham in Summer and what they’ll be wearing for it.

WILL

What’re you most looking forward to this summer?

Longer days, warmer nights and wearing shorts.

Are there any pieces you’ve got your eye on?

Probably another pair of Colorful Standard shorts and some more Sunray t-shirts

Personally, we can’t wait to make the most of that ‘sun on your skin’ feeling (hopefully it's on its way!), where/what’s your go-to in Birmingham when the sun is out?

I like the area by the library and the Town Hall right now, it’s a great place to sit with a coffee and watch the world go by.

Now you’re known for being our resident denim-head, what’s your verdict on denim in warmer months? How’s best to style it if you would? / If you’re wearing it, how’re you styling it?

Just because the sun is out doesn’t mean you can’t wear jeans - go for a lighter wash and a lighter weight (like an 8oz or 10oz denim). Something like an Orslow Painters Pant or the Levi’s Made & Crafted 1980’s 501 jean

We’re going to be talking to Harj in a couple of weeks, is there anything you want to know?

What’s his favourite brand and what is he having for tea?

AIDEEN

What’re you most looking forward to this summer?

Seeing Jamie T at Glastonbury!! Just generally being out and about more I guess; seeing friends and the spontaneity summer seems to bring. Oh, and watching Levi Love and Luke Una round it all off at WHP in September!

Are there any pieces you’ve got your eye on?

Thinking about one of the Gramicci Talecut skirts as I get so much wear out of the G-Pants and a Uni Works Beach Hoodie.

Personally, we can’t wait to make the most of that ‘sun on your skin’ feeling (hopefully it's on its way!), where/what’s your go-to in Birmingham when the sun is out?

Brunch and a bloody mary outside at The Plough in Harborne, a pint and an Original Patty Men Burger in the garden at The British Oak in Stirchley or a walk through town down to Wine Freedom and DigBrew in Digbeth.

Though if you want to escape the beer garden crowds (and the heat, and the hayfever) call 0121 236 2400 to book Birmingham’s best kept secret.

What’s your opinion on denim in summer?

Light wash jeans, a plimsoll like a Novesta Star Master and plain T-shirt is a classic summer look in my opinion. If it’s super hot I’ll probably wear an ecru jean or Danton Easy Pant in indigo.

Got anything you’d like to ask Dervla?

Where can we get the best margarita in Birmingham?

Thanks for reading! Enjoy shopping all the looks mentioned above and more at https://liquorstoreclothing.com/ but most importantly, have fun and take care this Summer!
