We’re 10! Ten whole years of Liquor Store!!

We’ve been pretty lucky in the last ten years when it comes to making friends, both with brands and customers alike, but it’s always birthdays that seem to show you just how loved you are! We’ve been super grateful for all the extra love and kindness we’ve received this year but not least from our friends at Universal Works. They were so kind they threw us a party! Now, we would’ve been chuffed with a few bowls of jelly and ice cream and some bunting maybe but Uni Works went well beyond that!

We love a party in the store and have been gutted to not be able to do so over the last couple of years but it made that Saturday even sweeter, the sun even came out for it! We got to kick off our tenth birthday celebrations with so many of the friends we’ve made in the last decade and meet so many future friends too. It’s always a pleasure for us to hang out with UW co-founder David Keyte and team but to have them across from Nottingham, having a beer with the loyal customers we’ve spent so many Saturday mornings chatting Baker Jackets and Aston Pants with was a real treat.

Waste Studio came to take part in the celebrations too and live screen-printed some super exclusive Future Friendship Project T-Shirts, only available on the day. It was great to see so many snap up a piece of Liquor Store history but the best bit about it was that together with Uni Works we donated 100% of the profits to the Birmingham-based charity We Go Outside Too, founded by friend of the store Marlon Patrice. If you’re unaware of We Go Outside Too,  the mission is to empower the inner city Black Community to experience the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of the great outdoors - we really encourage you to check them out; read Marlon’s story and support if you have the means to!

With everything else going on, Universal Works still had one last birthday gift for us and we’re pleased to say this one is still available for you! On the day, we launched a limited edition collaboration available exclusively at Liquor Store. We’ve got two colourways of both the Dockside Overshirt and the Military Chino; iconic Universal Works styles that we love, created especially for us! We had a couple of sizes left in each after the launch so we’ve now popped them online so you can get a piece of history even if you’re not local to Birmingham!

Thank you once again to Universal Works, Waste Studio and all the familiar faces that came along to celebrate our birthday! There’s quite a lot more to come in the way of birthday celebrations so sign up to our newsletter here for an invite!
